D's Top 5 Commercials (Week ending 3/31)

What's going on folks? I've decided to do a column on my top commercials.  I hope to do this every week, at least 5, maybe 3, we'll see how it goes.  There's way to many good commercials on the tube and I feel it's right to show them some love.  So here we go w/ the top five for this week.  If you're viewing this on a mobile device I have left you the links just in case the video isn't embedded.

5) The Gecko's Chicago Accent - GEICO
(link: http://youtu.be/hhEUaoeHn9M)

Nicely done, it started the week being the funniest but with so many more commercial it got knocked down to 5 but nevertheless, very funny, I like how his accent and how they added in "Da Bears" at the end.  If anybody has every done the Chicago accent they've always ended it with that.  Good Stuff!

4) Pass Out Cat- Cat's Pride Fresh and Light
(link: http://youtu.be/ZCUfFWcA-BI)

Oh man, the first time I saw this I was with my mother and she cracked up the whole commercial. I thought it was great.  If you have or have had cats before I'm sure it's probably funnier.  I know I've wondered if they've thought of the smell that could come from the litter box.  Nicely done commercial with great animation.  Definitely a top 5 commercial and would have been higher if I had started this column earlier.

3) Vlasic Pickles - "Nobody brings the bite like Vlasic"
(link: http://youtu.be/cmUrG-ef-yM)

Quick Commercial but man is it hilarious!  Very well done on the message.  Even at a funeral it has so much  bite that this man yelled his excitement.  What puts it over is everybody's reaction to it and then he realizes where he is again.  A very late entry as I saw it for the first time March 29th but a good one nonetheless.

2) Coffeehouse #Fail (Door) - International Delight Iced Coffee
(link: http://youtu.be/I6Nbx7Gs3xU)

This is the longer version then the one currently shown on the TV but nevertheless, still very funny.  How many times have you seen this before? I just like how  everybody else is having there issues w/ the door and this lady just runs right into is.  Ouch.  Another commercial that gets me laughing every time I see it.  I love how it's from a surveillance camera too, classic.

1) Official Liquid-Plumr Double Impact Commercial
(link: http://youtu.be/Z7fz0jpuLkM)

Just like with number 2 this is the full version of this commercial but regardless the version you watch it's hilarious.  The lady in this commercial is spot on with her facial expressions and all.  She plays the part well and sells the product from beginning to end.  There's not much more really needed to be said but ENJOY IT!

So this concludes the debut edition of this Top 5 Commercials list.  I hope you liked the commercials I chose and please feel free to comment at will on any and all of the commercials.  Feel free to tell me if I should be on the look out to any commercials as well.  You can find me on twitter at: devebx.  Thanks again and stay tuned next week for another edition of "D's Top 5 Commercials" and lets see who stays on top.

I Wonder... Would it be so different??

We all have those days we spend thinking of the "What If'", the "I wonder", right? Can't be just me. I do it from time to time. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any regrets. Well, maybe one, but nothing I wouldn't jeopardize the outcome I have in life thus far (not that it's a fantastic one but still).

I wish there was some sort of time machine or better yet an angel that comes down to show you how life would have turned out had you made a different choice. Why is it that only happens on TV Shows? So not fair. You see, I'd like to see how thing might have turned out if I made a different choice, but not really change what I did for real. I guess I'd like to see how some choices turn out because some of them were life changing indeed. For real. Come on, you know damn well if you had the option of seeing how things could have went (depending on what is was) you'd be curious.

For me, it's things like if my childhood girlfriend and I never got that abortion. How would that have turned out? Me with a kid? Wow, scary. What if I stayed at the Council on Foreign Relations instead of leaving? Well, I'm not sure anything different would have happened except I'd still be tired of it. Oh, what if the deal that got me the job at Macklowe Properties was a success and they didn't have to lay off pretty much all of us. Wow, that would have been something. I got to know so many people there. To tell you the truth, I don't think I have ever gotten over being laid off from there. Real Talk.

As you can see, with the exception of one major one, my "I Wonder" list isn't all that dramatic to see how it would have went had I chose differently. I think for the most part I would have still ended up right here were I'm at today. Is that a bad thing? Who's to say. Only one would have had a drastic impact on my life and that was if I actually had a kid. That's the one I'll always think about. Truth be told, to this day I think I was more in love with that girl than she was with me. But that's for another blog and another time.

So, am I the only one that has these type of thoughts??? Naaaaa, I know I can't be. Feel free to leave a thought of yours on the comments if you'd like. If you've gotten this far it's much appreciated as I'm just writing what's on the mind.

Thanks for reading.

Be back with another real soon...
